Ruby in a new film

Egyptian director/producer Sharif Sabri, who is also the business manager of controversial Egyptian singer Ruby, has completed writing a new film, which will star Ruby. Sabri stated that the film will mark a major surprise for everyone.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Sabri revealed that he plans on beginning all the necessary preparations for the film in the upcoming few weeks. The name of the film has not yet been decided on, neither has the rest of the cast been selected.

Sabri has also noted that he is placing the final touches on Ruby’s upcoming album “Misheet Wara Ihsasi” (I Followed My Heart), in addition to the new clip that will accompany it as part of the promotional campaing.

The international satellite television network Showtime will exclusively begin airing the film “Sabi War’at Kotchina” (Seven Playing Cards), which was Ruby’s first leading role on the big screen, on its channel Cinema Home.

Showtime will repeatedly air the film until August 10. The film is directed by Sabri.

The screening of the film comes in celebration of the of Ruby’s latest album and at the end of each screening a collection of Ruby’s new songs will be aired. The songs are exclusively aired on Showtime and will the album will be released in the very near future.

Ruby is about to return to the spotlight after a year long absence.

Sharif said Ruby’s album will be ready for release in the coming weeks and he intends on filming new music videos for all eight songs on the album. Ruby has already headed to Sharm El Sheikh to film the first video for the song “Al Mani Khair,” also the album title.

Ruby under investigation

Egyptian singer Ruby is under investigation for tax evasion.

The Egyptian Tax Commission claims Ruby tried to evade paying her taxes by failing to report her earnings from all of her entertainment activities, and by not filing her tax returns. Several concerts, films, and albums are on the list of unreported sources of income.

An Egyptian court gave the Commission the green light to begin its investigation to determine what she owes.

Ruby is about to return to the spotlight after a year long absence, according to her business manager Egyptian producer and director Sharif Sabri.

According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Sharif said Ruby’s album will be ready for release in the coming weeks and he intends on filming new music videos for all eight songs on the album. Ruby has already headed to Sharm El Sheikh to film the first video for the song “Al Mani Khair,” also the album title.

Sharif explained that Ruby’s absence was due to her preoccupation with her final year studying at the university where she is earning her bachelor’s degree.

Ruby’s original name is Rania Hussein Mohammad Tawfiq.
